Severe Snoring Can Cause Serious Health Problems

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

Almost everybody could tell at least one joke about people who snore. But snoring no laughing matter. According to The American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, serious snoring not only disrupts sleep, it also can induce serious, long-run health problems, including obstructive sleep apnea.

For chronic snorers, the good news is that they are not exclusive. AAO-HNS says forty-five pct of normal adults snore at the least sometimes, and twenty-five pct are habitual snorers. Problem snoring is more prevailing in males and people who are fat, and it commonly turns worse with age.

The noisy sounds of snoring happen once there’s an obstruction to the free air flow through the passages at the back of the mouth and nose where the tongue and upper throat meet the soft palate and uvula. These structures striking each other and vibrating during breathing make the sounds that keeps 1000000s of people awake at nighttime.

AAO-HNS attributes snoring to a variety of reasons, including excessive bulkiness of throat tissue (children with big tonsils and adenoids often snore), inflammation and obstructed nasal airways.

So what’s a sleep-deprived person to do? A lot of doctors recommend products that relieve over-crowding or inflammation. For instance, Z-Snore, from the “Spray” line of sublingual sprays, can aid with inflammation in the nose and respiratory tract, swollen tonsils, a stuffy nose and more.

If you snore, then you have probably considered purchasing stop snoring products to help relieve you of your nighttime nuisance. With so many stop snoring products available on the market, it can be difficult to know which ones work and which do not.
